A High Tea with a Difference

There’s nothing quite as delightful as a high tea. Ever had one? The Shoalhaven Foodies indulged in a high tea recently and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

However, this was a high tea with a difference. Instead of the usual fare of little cakes, savoury morsels and tiny sandwiches, we added to the brief. We were to make a high tea dish inspired by an artist. After all, the Shoalhaven Foodies motto is Food is Art.

A Tudor Feast

Rosie and Pip helping out at the banquet

The Shoalhaven Foodies put on a Tudor Feast recently.  Twenty hungry diners gathered in Frances artistic home in Berry to experience the magic of the Tudor period, attended to by her lovely young nieces, Pip and Rosie . It was an evening of imagination, great food and conversation, even some Tudor dancing!

Remembering Frida

Frida Kahlo used to hand out photographs of herself so people would remember her. Christine made beautiful cards and posters for us all.

Shoalhaven Foodies’ Fiesta lunch was a tribute to Frida Kahlo, the revered Mexican artist who was as famous for her tumultuous life as for her brilliant art. Frida also loved to cook in her fabulously coloured kitchen where people gathered to taste her food.

Picnic at Mountain Ridge Winery

At a recent get-together, the Shoalhaven Foodies decided it was time for a picnic. What better location than one of our local wineries?
